Alpaca Info

A few recent events have led me to believe that Alpaca Fashions are coming into their own. People are starting to recognize the quality and benefits of Alpaca clothing, I think. My wife, Lisa, is operating Pedro's Pride Fashions which sells Alpaca Products, including wholesale to stores and ranch stores. Her website http://www.pedrospride.com is going live today for the first time and we are excited about that. When the site was just a draft mode, we had a few people look at it and almost all of them bought things. In fact, some sweaters that were to go on the site were sold before we could do so.

Back to the events: First, in November, Lisa was invited down to Benton City, WA and the Tri-Cities for a ranch Christmas sale. I tagged along to help carry boxes and do stuff like that. I am really glad I went. The event was hosted by five area ranchesand held at Yakima River Alpacas. Dan and Sandy Sanders were the hosts and opened their fantastic home to us. Every single person I met that day, without exception, was fabulous. Lisa and I had a great time and I was amazed at the number of customers who came and their reception of Alpaca Products. A special part of the day was the appearance of and antics by Starbuck, a four-month old Alpaca from Enchanted Acres Ranch--www.enchantedacresranch.com. Thanks, to all of you who made us feel so welcome and made the long drive well worth it.

Second, the Bonner County (Idaho) Fairgrounds Association held their Third Annual Christmas Fair. What a gas! There were local artisans and crafters displaying their unique products and the hosts served food and beverages all day. This was a great place to sell and the exposure of Alpaca Fashions and Alpaca Products (like Teddy Bears) to the general public was a positive. Sales for Lisa were brisk and there was a huge number of people from the local community. In addition to selling lots of things, a benefit of this event for us was that a lot of people had been hearing about Alpacas and Alpaca Fashions and actually were familiar with the unique qualities of the "Fiber of the Gods."

For all of the Alpaca organizations and groups of ranches and ranch stores, these types of events seem to be doable and a really fun way to work together to raise awareness. Spreading Alpaca Info to those who Love Alpacas is always a positive in my book.

Let us hear from you if you have ideas for events.
